I forgot my camera battery- but I’m still in the moment

Article By Alice

I'm sure every person with a digital camera has forgotten their memory card or battery at one time. I experienced the frustration very recently, while it was charging at home and I listened to Mr.C explain how I'd committed some sort of photographer sin, I knew I'd learn something and I'd gain something.

1. I'd learnt to check for my sd card and battery the next time I venture out, I can tell others to do the same- do it, every time.

2. I gained a sense of being in the moment- appreciating nature as a whole and I got to try out Mr.C's super duper camera, Candid style.

Candid photography is a little like photo journalism, there are no posed photos as such but the person behind the camera will interact with the person to get a natural reaction, or wait till for the right moment to capture something spontaneous from the subject.

Using the camera, I captured my subjects showing expressions of delight at their surroundings, it made me realise, even more so, I want to photograph people.

Not mallards, not trees, not the boring areas of Berkshire. But people, their natural beauty and characters they'd like to be in front of the camera.

Life's little reminder, everything happens for a reason. But now you know, remember your batteries please.
